Africa-Press – Eswatini. Royal Leopard enterprising playmaker Junior Magagula and Mbabane Highlanders head coach Selaotse ‘Sly’ Mosala are currently leading the MTN /PLE fan voting polls for the player of the year and coach of the year awards, respectively.

This is according to the latest statistics released yesterday by MTN Brand and sponsorship Manager Lando Dlamini after the launch of the competition a fortnight ago at Sigwaca House.

The initiative allows fans to vote for their player, coach and goalkeeper of the year from both the MTN Premier League and the National First Division.

After being instrumental in his side’s defence of the league title with the most assists, with 112 votes so far with Mbabane Highlanders striker and captain Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa following closely with 65 votes.

Young Buffaloes marksman Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze rounds up the top three with only two votes with the other candidates Mbabane Swallows duo Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko, Sediou Blandja and Manzini Wanderers Neliswa ‘Tiger’ Dlamini yet to receive any votes.

In the coach of the year category, Mosala leads with 23 votes ahead of Tambankulu Callies’ Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane at 19. After winning this year’s MTN Premier League title, Royal Leopard coach Edwin Matsebula is in third with nine votes whilst his Buffaloes counterpart Sabelo Mnisi is in fourth place with six.

Mbabane Swallows coach Musa Manyatsi has five votes with Vovovo’s Caleb Ngwenya yet to get any votes. Meanwhile, Manzini Wanderers goal minder Bongiswa Dlamini is top in the goalkeeper of the year category with 76 votes and he is followed by Khanyakwezwe Shabalala from Highlanders with 41.

Madlenya’s star player Lucky Gamedze leads the NFD player of the year votes on 79 so far with Illovo’s Sibusiso Dlamini leading the goalkeeper of the year category with 77 votes.

In the coach of the year category, Msumpe Manchester’s Thami Dlamini leads the pack with 76 votes.
