Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III yesterday left the country for Zambia on a state visit.

Whilst in that country, he is expected to officiate during the official opening of the Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Ndola. His Majesty is accompanied by Inkhosikati LaMagongo, Emazinyane and some cabinet ministers.

He left through the King Mswati III International Airport in the afternoon. His Majesty was seen off by Emakhosikati, chiefs, Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini, members of Emabandla and Lacwebetelako among the many people present.

Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Newman Ntshangase said the King’s visit would see the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding between the two countries. He said top of the agenda would be the opening of the trade fair.

His Majesty will today open the 57th ZITF in Ndola, which runs from June 28 to July 4. This is a trade show which is an Industrial, Commercial and Agricultural exhibition.

ZITF has been contributing to the consolidation of the economic and cooperation ties between Zambia and the rest of the world.

The Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) is the biggest trade and commercial exhibition in Zambia, which hosts both local and foreign exhibitors from all sectors of the economy with a view of enhancing global trade.

Ntshangase said there was an Agreement for the Establishment of a Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security between the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Government of the Republic of Zambia to be signed.

Also to be signed is a memorandum of understanding on Agricultural Cooperation between the Republic of Zambia and Eswatini.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Zambia announced that His Majesty will stay in that country until tomorrow. They stated that the visit comes at the invitation of President Hakainde Hichilema, and is a reciprocal gesture following President Hichilema’s State Visit to Eswatini in June 2022.
