Africa-Press – Eswatini. Hope, pride, and a wave of opportunity swept through the Shiselweni Region as His Majesty King Mswati III officially opened two landmark projects, the E60 million Shoprite Complex and the E160 million Infinity Factory — on a historic day that will be etched into the hearts of Emaswati.
The King’s development tour began with the grand opening of the new E60 million Shoprite Complex, a vibrant commercial center that has transformed Hlathikhulu’s business landscape. The complex, co-owned by the Speaker of Parliament, Jabulani ‘Buy Cash’ Mabuza, and a foreign investor, houses the latest Shoprite store — a vital addition that brings affordable goods closer to local communities while creating hundreds of employment opportunities.
The festive atmosphere was filled with excitement, music, and heartfelt gratitude. In a touching moment, Shoprite presented His Majesty with a beautifully adorned birthday cake and a E20 000 donation to the Esicojeni Foundation, reinforcing their commitment to community upliftment alongside business growth.
Following the Shoprite inauguration, the King proceeded to officially open the E160 million Infinity Factory, a state-of-the-art facility specializing in sock production. The factory has already created jobs for approximately 600 Emaswati, breathing new life into the local economy and reaffirming the nation’s focus on industrialization and job creation.
Addressing the gathered crowds, His Majesty reassured the nation of his unwavering commitment to economic empowerment, passionately declaring, “I will only rest when every liSwati has the opportunity to wake up and go to work.”
In an inspiring pledge, the King further committed to unveiling a major development project every year during the Umhlanga Ceremony in the Shiselweni Region, ensuring the spirit of progress remains alive and flourishing.
Today, Hlathikhulu stands as a beacon of what visionary leadership, strategic partnerships, and community spirit can achieve. The E220 million investment is not just about bricks and mortar — it is about building brighter futures, unlocking potential, and strengthening Eswatini’s path toward inclusive prosperity.
Indeed, a new dawn has broken over Shiselweni — a dawn of jobs, joy, and sustainable growth!
