Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has urged President of the League of African Churches, Chief Archbishop Professor Samson Hlatjwako, to pass on his values of respect for God and Swazi culture to his children, grandchildren, and the church.
His Majesty made the remarks through Prince Phuhlaphi during the double celebration of Chief Archbishop Professor Hlatjwako’s archiepiscopal vestment and honorary professorship.
The King commended the Archbishop for successfully balancing his leadership role in the church with a deep respect for traditions and cultural heritage.
“I urge you, Bishop, to preach the Gospel of respect not only to the congregation and us as a people, but to your children and grandchildren, along with every value that you have embodied whilst still in the land of the living,” said His Majesty.
The celebration was also attended by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, who congratulated Chief Archbishop Professor Hlatjwako for standing firm in faith despite challenges.
He expressed hope that emaSwati were learning valuable life lessons from the Archbishop’s unwavering journey of faith.
Chief Archbishop Professor Samson Hlatjwako serves as the Arch Bishop and is the fifth leader of the Gwamile Apostolic World Faith Church, which was established in 1916.
The church has more than 40 branches in Eswatini, as well as several congregations in Mozambique and the Republic of South Africa.
