Africa-Press – Eswatini. On 6 February 2026, the Kwakitsi Foundation hosted its annual gift-giving event for children under its care, transforming lives and bringing renewed hope to young learners across Eswatini. The event, which was originally scheduled for November 2025 as a Christmas celebration, was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances and later renamed the Kwakitsi Foundation Back to School Event to better support children at the start of the academic year.
The event catered for 300 children, providing them with essential school and personal care items to help them begin the year with dignity and confidence.
The occasion was graced by the Foundation’s Patron, HRH Princess Temtsimba, who was supported by her sisters, HRH Princess Tiyandza “Titi” and HRH Princess Sibahle. The presence of the Royal Family highlighted the importance of child welfare and education as national priorities.
The event was further honoured by representation from The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, through the Office of the Director of Social Welfare, underscoring government support for initiatives aimed at protecting and empowering vulnerable children.
Key stakeholders and sponsors played a vital role in making the event possible. Eswatini Mobile donated 300 pairs of school shoes, ensuring that every child left with proper footwear. Artemis contributed funds towards food and drinks, Old mutual made sure we were coordinated and unified in our t-shirt wear, while Letshego Financial Services donated funds towards the production of Super Sito, a wellness journal designed to support children through structured wellness conversations facilitated by Kwakitsi Foundation. Just to name a few of the sponsors that brought the event together.
Additional sponsors included Artemis, Resources 4 Africa & Eswatini National Coal Storage Terminals, Letshego Financial services, Eswatini Mobile, Mwelase Group of Companies, Asset Developers, FNB Eswatini, Rhodes Group, Zesty Lemon, DJ Cybos, Pick n Pay Clothing, Swati Secrets, Remedial Wellness Center, among others.
The programme featured interactive activities, including aerobics facilitated by Mr Muzi Lushaba, and a drone presentation by Mr Menzi Khumalo from the Royal Eswatini Technology Park, adding excitement and innovation to the day’s celebrations.
Kwakitsi Foundation is dedicated to driving activities that promote the Sustainable Development Goals, zeroing in on:
Goal 1: Zero Poverty — as our key mission is to restore the moral and dignity of emaSwati.
Goal 2: Zero Hunger — Kwakitsi runs campaigns like Cooking for the Kids that bring communities together to ensure children’s nutritional needs are met.
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being — we focus on the physical (by promoting sports and wellness programs) and emotional wellbeing of our children (by supporting the development of Super Sito, a wellness journal designed to assist our children with tough mental health conversations, making sure that they develop key skills that empower their development.
Goal 4: Quality Education — Kwakitsi Foundation keeps its hand on the ball when it comes to education, providing school bags, school shoes, and learning material, while also bringing innovation that would otherwise be far for the children we assist, such as having a drone presentation for the children.
This is a display of the commitment Kwakitsi has towards not just education, but quality education that is more than information transfer, but a beautiful quality experience.
Each child received a carefully prepared gift pack containing a toothbrush and toothpaste, facecloth, roll-on, school shoes, and crayons, supporting both hygiene and learning needs.
Speaking at the event, HRH Princess Temtsimba emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in nurturing Eswatini’s future generation, noting that investing in children today lays the foundation for a stronger nation tomorrow.
The event once again demonstrated Kwakitsi Foundation’s commitment to restoring dignity, promoting education, and strengthening the wellbeing of children and communities across the Kingdom.
