Africa-Press – Eswatini. Ubombo Sugar Limited (USL) has indicated that local suppliers feeding into the company are grappling with serious financial challenges.
Ubombo Sugar Head of Finance Philile Nxumalo stated that as a company they wanted to empower local suppliers through their procurement spending. She said they wanted to make a positive impact in the communities which they operated in. Nxumalo highlighted that there were unfortunate things happening with their suppliers who were facing financial challenges which often led to those suppliers closing shop.
She shared that among other challenges faced by the local suppliers, was lack of working capital. Nxumalo said as a company, they were always aiming to assist their suppliers grow their businesses hence they organised the annual Suppliers’ Day where they would come together with their suppliers to address all these challenges.
