Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Serendipity Complex in Mbabane came alive this past Saturday as The Hive Market, a vibrant pop-up event powered by Honey Child Style, brought together a variety of local entrepreneurs and creatives for a day of shopping, networking, and community building.
The market featured an exciting lineup of stalls from homegrown brands including Perfume Paradise, Makoti Dress Up, Luxury Soles, Aristocrat, and many others. From bespoke fragrances and fashion to handcrafted decor and organic wellness products, the market was a buzzing hub of local talent and innovation.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere was DJ Ntombs, who kept attendees entertained with an energetic set that perfectly complemented the day’s lively vibe.
Pinky Glover, the coordinator of The Hive Market and founder of Honey Child Style, emphasised the importance of creating alternative platforms for entrepreneurs to connect directly with customers.
“The Hive Market is about more than just sales it’s about exposure, networking, and giving our local entrepreneurs a chance to engage with their clients in a fresh and dynamic environment,” Glover said. “By taking the market to different locations like Serendipity Complex, we create new touchpoints between brands and communities.”
Mfundo Shekwa of Perfume Paradise, one of the vendors, expressed his appreciation for the initiative.
“It’s been an incredible opportunity to introduce our scents to new customers who wouldn’t normally come across our products. Events like this really help us grow our reach,” he said.
Vicky from Makoti Dress Up echoed the sentiment, adding that face-to-face interactions with clients are invaluable.
“It’s always refreshing to hear direct feedback and see people try on our dresses in person. The energy here is inspiring, and I’m grateful to be part of it,” she noted.
Also making a striking impression was Poppy Simelane of Popping Deco, who showcased her creative event décor setups, drawing attention from future clients and collaborators.
As the afternoon unfolded, attendees browsed, sampled, and shopped while enjoying a warm community atmosphere. The Hive Market continues to establish itself as a key platform for Swazi entrepreneurs to thrive one pop-up at a time.
