Lufafa Gold mine Director David Kirschenbaum Accused of Refusing to Pay Millions to Suppliers, Manager Maqhawe Nxumalo Demands Names of those who are Complaining

Africa-Press – Eswatini. David Kirschenbaum, the Director of ‘Lufafa Gold Mine’ has been accused of refusing to pay millions due to suppliers.

“He always make excuses and get angry when it’s time to pay invoices and our companies are financially struggling”, said one of the suppliers.

Reached for comments this week, the investor who is based in the United States(US) denied the allegations but referred to Mine Manager Maqhawe Nxumalo.

“Please discuss with the Mine Manager he can assist you with any information you need”, said the Managing Director when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.

On the other hand, Mine Manager Maqhawe Nxumalo demanded the names of those who “are complaining before making an informed comment” regarding the matter.

“Good morning Nkhosi. First of all, I need you to be aware that I have been instructed to assist you with all the information you need. At first glance,it is straightforward to state that the allegations are not true; we do not owe any suppliers millions at this time. However, responding to the question becomes more complex without further context. The lack of details makes it difficult for us to address the specific claims made.To assist us in providing a more accurate and direct response, we kindly ask if you could share the names of the suppliers and amounts we allegedly owe. With this information, we will be able to take you into our confidence about our relationship with them”, said the Mine Manager.

But the names of the suppliers who complained, shared the information under the privilege of the protection of sources hence the editor informed the Manager that, it was not possible to share the identity of the sources.

But another source within the Mine and close to the matter confirmed that, the Mine is currently withholding payments for certain suppliers due to contractual disagreements.

“We have two(2) cases currently being handled by our legal department, where there are questions about contractual obligations of both parties in the agreement. The amounts involved are E140 000 and E60 000”, said the source within the Mine.

The source said, they suspect these suppliers might have contacted the editor and complained but, the money does not amount to millions.

But the supplier who spoke to this publication alleged that, there are many suppliers who are complaining about delayed payments and the outstanding payments amounts to millions.

This has been vigorously denied by Nxumalo, the Mine Manager who consistently maintained that, the Mine does not owe anyone.
