Africa-Press – Eswatini. Madlenya and Manzini Wanderers settled for a goalless draw during their MTN Premier League match played yesterday at KaLanga Technical Centre.
Fresh off a disappointing defeat in their last outing, the Weslians looked to return to winning ways against a side that was also licking their wounds following their exit from the Ingwenyama Cup.
The Siphofaneni-based outfit squandered an opportunity to open the scoring sheet in the second minute when Melusi Thwala’s weak effort was easily saved by Sandile Ginindza.
The rest of the minutes provided little in terms of goal mouth action as both teams reduced each other to half chances. The score remained goalless at break.
Coming from the break, Wanderers made two changes as they looked for a goal and they showed intent going foward but their build-ups were lost. Wanderers’ goalkeeper Ginindza came to his team’s rescue after 66 minutes of play when he blocked Mncedisi Magagula’s effort during a one-on-one situation.
Towards the end of the match, Wanderers’ Sidumo Dlamini was unlucky when his header went inches wide. There was a last chance from Mncedisi Magagula, which was thwarted by ‘Nkomishi’ as the encounter ended in goalless. The hub giants managed to take home a point as they look to continue their relegation survival.
