Majomela Football Club, a small yet spirited team is making a heartfelt appeal to the public and potential sponsors for a full set of football kit. Currently, Majomela FC only has team tops that they use both home and away in a symbolic show of unity and resilience. While this approach stands out, it also highlights the challenges the club faces in providing their players with proper gear.
Speaking to this publication, Sibusiso Shongwe, social media manager and also player told this publication that their team had tried other ways of getting help but they failed in the process. “There are other ways in which me have tried to get help but it was a once off thing.” Said Shongwe. ” We were given the chance to play for a soccer kit by InstaCash but unfortunately we lost the game “
Shongwe also mentioned that the team does not have a coach but they are independent doing everything by themselves. “It’s an independent team, we have got no coach. If ever the team is in need of finances every player contribut.” He adds.
The team believes that providing youth with opportunities through sports is essential to combating the rising challenges of crime, substance abuse, and social unrest. Football has become more than a game for Majomela’s players , it’s a lifeline, a source of discipline, and a path to purpose.
Despite limited resources, Majomela FC remains proud of its growing community. “We are grateful for our 217 followers,” says Songwe. “Every one of them is part of this journey. We’re grooming young talent and making a difference.”
