Africa-Press – Eswatini. A man reportedly forged Endlinilembi Royal Kraal Chief Prince Hynd’s signature, in a quest to be granted a firearm licence.
Christopher Mdluli (45) defied both local traditional authorities and the arms of the law, when he forged the signature and presented documents purported to be signed by the chief of Endlinilembi Royal Kraal. The signature was bearing a forged stamp and he is said to have produced it to a Royal Eswatini Police Service station commander, whereupon he (station commander) was to sign the application for granting of a firearm licence. This happened at Sidvokodvo Police Station in December last year.
Mdluli of Endlinilembi appeared before Acting Manzini Principal Magistrate Sindisiwe Zwane, on the charge with the offence of uttering. The accused was sentenced to three years imprisonment with an option to pay a fine of E3 000.
