Africa-Press – Eswatini. Angola-based winger Bonginkhosi ‘Manyovu’ Dlamini has been included in the Sihlangu Semnikati squad that will take on Somalia in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
The former Royal Leopard star is part of the 31 member tentative squad together with South Africa-based JusticeFiguareido from Cape Town All stars.
The qualifiers will take centre-stage between March 21-29.
CAF Confederation Cup envoys Leopard have seven players in the contingent announced yesterday by the Eswatini Football Association.
The included players are Phephisani Msibi (goalkeeper), Machawe Dlamini (defender), Sikhumbuzo Magagula (defender), Mlamuli Msibi (defender), Sifiso Matse (midfielder) Mzwandile Mabelesa (midfielder) and Junior Magagula(midfielder).
“Sihlangu’s most immediate official assignment is to play against Somalia, over two legs in the frame of the Total Energies AFCON Qualifiers 2023 Qualifiers during the FIFA week, between the 21st and 29th March 2022. In this regard and to earnestly assume preparations of the match and taking advantage of the break by the MTN PLE matches, the national team will enter into a full-time camp starting in the evening of Sunday, 20th February 2022 to end on Wednesday, 2nd March 2022.
This camp will give the coaches an opportunity to mould the newly selected players into a formidable unit. “The selected players for the national team will be excused from the current camp, and will join the national team during the FIFA week, in line with the regulations governing release of players for national teams.
“The same case applies with players selected from clubs outside the country, who will join at the start of the FIFA Week. Royal Leopard FC players will therefore be available for the Somalia match,” reads part of the statement.
