The four local municipalities joined forces to commemorate World Environment Day under the theme, ‘Restoring Land, Desertification and Drought Resilience.’ The event took place in Manzini.

During the event, Manzini Deputy Mayor Wesley Dlamini demonstrated how soil remediation was done. He did that along Kelly Street. Manzini Mayor Bongani Mabuza and other councillors from the urban areas in the Manzini Region also attended the event.

Together, all the municipalities pledged to uphold land restoration and keep the towns clean. Among other things, debate students were honored with well-deserved prizes.

According to the World Environment Day website, the Environment Day is held annually on 5 June to bring together millions of people from across the globe and engaging them in an effort to protect and restore the Earth.
