Africa-Press – Eswatini. A new era has dawned at Manzini Wanderers Football Club, as the maroon and white giants unveil a revamped technical bench, signalling renewed ambition and a fresh start in their pursuit of glory.
The club has confirmed former Ubombo Sugar FC Coach Gcina Dlamini as the new Head Coach, assisted by Christian Thwala, with Thokozani Mamba appointed as Goalkeeper Coach. The trio officially take over from the previous coaching team led by Nyangayezizwe ‘Crooks’ Hlophe, who was in charge during the early part of the current campaign.
Announcing the changes, the club’s Public Relations Officer, Mongi Simelane, said the decision was reached after the team failed to meet performance expectations under the previous setup. He emphasised that the separation was conducted on good terms, with mutual understanding between the club and the outgoing coaches.
“We did not get the results we were hoping for, but we sat down with the previous coaches and agreed mutually to part ways,” said Simelane.
“As a club, we are optimistic that the new coaching team will bring positive energy and deliver the results our supporters have been yearning for.”
Simelane noted that the new appointments demonstrate Wanderers’ determination to rebuild a competitive squad and restore their status as one of Eswatini’s most respected football institutions.
The announcement has sparked enthusiasm among fans, who have taken to social media under the hashtag #MahhalaWeseli, expressing excitement and confidence in the club’s new direction.
As the new coaching trio settle into their roles, attention will turn to their upcoming fixtures — a crucial test of whether Manzini Wanderers can turn their fortunes around and begin a genuine resurgence in Eswatini football.
