MAVUSO BYPASS UPGRADES SET TO IMPROVE TRAFFIC FLOW SAFETY

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Motorists in Manzini are being asked to be extra careful as rehabilitation works continue along the Central Distributor Road, commonly known as the Mavuso Bypass, with traffic now being redirected to help keep vehicles moving and reduce delays.

Manzini City Council officials confirmed that two lanes are currently under construction, while vehicles are using the remaining lanes. Temporary road signs have been put in place, and flaggers are on site to guide drivers and help control traffic, especially during busy morning and afternoon hours.

The roadworks are part of wider city upgrades aimed at improving traffic flow, making roads safer, and meeting the growing transport needs in Manzini. The project is part of the council’s efforts to improve key roads and provide a better and safer driving experience for residents, businesses, and public transport operators.

Although the lane closures have caused some inconvenience, the council says the long-term benefits will be worth it. Once completed, the upgraded bypass is expected to reduce congestion and make travel times shorter and more reliable. Motorists are encouraged to follow all traffic signs, be patient, and plan their trips early to avoid delays.

City officials also stressed that cooperation from road users is very important to keep both workers and motorists safe during the construction period. They added that following instructions from flaggers and respecting road signs will help prevent accidents and keep the project running smoothly.

The maintenance works are expected to be completed on or around April 26. Once finished, the improved Mavuso Bypass will help ease traffic pressure in Manzini and support better movement around the city, improving connectivity for everyone who uses the road.

Motorists are also advised to slow down when approaching the construction area and stay alert at all times, as traffic conditions may change quickly during the day.
