Africa-Press – Eswatini. Swazi Slojos Athletics Club’s Mduduzi Dlamini shone brightly on the course two days ago.
Dlamini took home the victory in the 256th edition of the Mbabane Parkrun, which started and finished at Mbabane Club on Saturday. He outpaced 66 enthusiastic runners, clocking 17 minutes and 16 seconds to become the overall winner. He is a regular champion on the trails of the Mbabane Golf Course’s weekly challenge. Dlamini narrowly edged out his closest competitor in the men’s category by mere seconds. Musawenkhosi Mamba finished just five seconds behind the champion. His position showed an improvement from his third-place finish in the previous edition.
However, in the women’s category, Phiwokuhle Bulunga celebrated an important milestone in the Mbabane Parkrun by securing the first position. She crossed the finish line in the 17th place overall but was the first woman to do so, clocking in at 21:42 minutes. This marked her 54th parkrun, with 50 of those runs taking place in the capital city. Meanwhile, her closest challenger was Calisile Mthethwa. She completed the 5km race in 27 minutes.
