Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Ministry of Health, through a statement issued by the Communications Officer Nsindiso Tsabedze yesterday May 8, warns the public about a scam related scheme targeting individuals seeking paramedic jobs.
The Ministry emphasizes that no recruitment process is currently underway for paramedics under the Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) unit.
This announcement follows reports of a scam in which an individual, falsely claiming to represent the EPR department, has been soliciting money from members of the public in exchange for job placement promises.
The fraudster is said to be operating in the Northern Hhohho region, misleading people by claiming close ties with EPR leadership and even the King’s Office.
The Ministry strongly refutes any involvement in such activities and confirms that the EPR unit is not conducting any recruitment. Instead, the department is currently engaged in a validation exercise.
This process is meant to verify the credentials of previously trained paramedics, including where and when they received their training.
“This is only a validation exercise and does not guarantee employment,” the Ministry stressed, encouraging the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities.
The Ministry advised that should actual job opportunities arise, the public will be notified through official advertisement channels.
Citizens who may have been targeted or have useful information about the scam are urged to contact the nearest police station.
