Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini international and Zambia top side ZESCO United right-back Lindo ‘All-Trades’ Mkhonta is out of the woods following a knee ligament injury.
‘All-Trades’ went back to training on Monday and is expected to play in their next match. His team, which plays at one of the top 10 best leagues in Africa occupies second position after 12 matches of Zambian Super League 2023/24 season. The said player was cleared on Friday after his doctor’s visit. This publication earlier revealed that Mkhonta, who is popularly known for his dominance in the right-back position, was changed to right-winger in the match that was hosted by Zanaco FC. Mkhonta did not finish the game that ended, with the Ndola-based outfit securing a lone goal away draw. He was substituted in the 55th minute as his injury made it difficult for him to continue the game.
Injury
The right-footed player had suffered a knee ligament injury. Ligaments are the short bands of tough, flexible connective tissue that hold the knee together. Mkhonta confirmed that he resumed training sessions. “I will be part of the line-up in our next match. I’m looking forward to the game following a week’s break from the pitch,” he said.
