Africa-Press – Eswatini. Education Minister Owen Nxumalo’s leaked audio must be analyzed in context and, based on the ongoing royal interference in the functioning of State institutions and the subsequent consequences of allowing these royal parasites to destroy the entire education system.
Owen Nxumalo claims he is ‘armed’ with a royal order from Indlovukazi Queen Ntombi Tfwala directing him to influence the Governing Board of the Eswatini Medical Christian University(EMCU) to re-employ eighty(80) year-old Samuel S. Vilakati as the Executive Director.
The question is; if the royal order exists, what does Queen Ntombi Tfwala knows about the administration of a University and why is she even poking her nose in the functioning of such critical State institutions of higher learning?.
The University of Eswatini(UNESWA) was destroyed by royal interference and now, a whole Education Minister is claiming to be armed with a royal command directing him or the Governing Board to re-employ an eighty(80) year-old elderly.
What is the significance of appointing a Governing Board if royalty will then come-in with useless orders, violate corporate governance principles by interfering in the functioning of the Governing Board and by extension, the administration of the institution of higher learning?.
Education Minister Owen Nxumalo is bragging that he complies with royal orders, in his own words he said “mine-ke ngiyawalalela eMakhosi”, when trying to influence the Christian University Governing Board member to employ S.S Vilakati.
But the question that comes to my mind is; “manje wona laMakhosi lekatsi Owen uyawalalela kumele alalelwe noma sekabhedza abulala lelive nema-State institutions with these useless royal commands?”.
Clearly, we have a serious problem in this country, there’s nothing wrong with respecting Their Majesty’s but, what is difficult with providing the appropriate advice and say; “ngeke kulunge loku Mhlekazi sewukhululile S.S Vilakati sive sitawutsini?.
Education Minister Owen Nxumalo, by bragging that he complies with royal orders, is actually telling us that he can do anything to remain in power, unfortunately some of us don’t respect stupid politicians with absolutely no political backbone.
It’s not like some of us hate royalty but personally, I am against such royal orders and the interference of the Monarchy in the functioning of State institutions, already the Monarchy has caused huge damage in this country.
Queen Ntombi Tfwala is the mother to the King, she doesn’t have any academic experience in the administration of Universities and therefore, must allow the Governing Board of the Christian University to run the institution, members of the Board are highly qualified with full understanding of the operations and governance of State institutions in terms of the Public Enterprises Control and Monitoring Act.
In light of the aforementioned and in conclusion, it is of paramount importance to state that, the alleged Queen Mother’s royal order as communicated by Education and Training Minister Owen Nxumalo and, directing the Governing Board of the Eswatini Medical Christian University to employ an elderly is nothing but, outright ‘rubbish’.
