Africa-Press – Eswatini. King Mswati is promoting economic and social development by visiting various businesses in the country, his Spokesperson Percy Simelane told on Tuesday afternoon.
Responding to this publication when asked to clarify if the ongoing visit to businesses by the King “is not political and meant to promote the King”, the Spokesperson said, it’s part of the “Nkwe” command to develop the country and create a better life for all.
“Under the “Nkwe” concept pronounced by the Speech from the Throne at the opening of Parliament earlier this year, the focus was on both the social and economic aspect of the country’s evolution. While on face value, the King may seem to be pushing business only these days,he is actually pushing both. The business cluster however required more visibility because it was visibility lagging behind, mainly because of global challenges such as COVID-19 at a time when the world was still battling HIV/AIDS and marathon droughts caused by global warming”, said the King’s Spokesperson.
King Mswati is busy these days, visiting various businesses in the country and on Monday, he was at Montigny Investments, the Usuthu Forest Products.
Other companies officially opened by the King recently include Union Papers, Monsoor Group, Dalcrue under Tibiyo TakaNgwane, the Luke Commission, Elangeni Poultry and Logico Eswatini among others.
Reached for comments, Thuli Dlamini-Dladla, the President of the newly formed Business Eswatini Federation(BEF) said, as businesspeople under the Small and Business Enterprise(SME), they would also appreciate to see the King opening their businesses as well.
“Having the King visiting and officially opening your business is a good marketing strategy and we would appreciate to see him opening our businesses as well. We thought he was only focusing on giant businesses but we then saw him visiting chicken production so, we think this is a good marketing strategy”, said the President of the Business Eswatini Federation.
