Africa-Press – Eswatini. Today’s opening matches of the MTN National First Division (NFD) have been called off and shifted to next weekend.
This was announced by Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Executive (CEO) Kenneth Makhanya yesterday through a communiqué to all clubs.
“The ExCo of the Premier League of Eswatini hereby announces the postponement of the 2022 – 23 MTN NFD League kick-off on Saturday October 28 (today) due to deficiencies identified with the current rules and regulations. The kick –off date will now be Saturday November 5.
Your cooperation in this matter shall be highly appreciated,” reads the statement.
This means football lovers will have to wait another week until they can watch the Northern Hhohho derby between Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows face Malanti Chiefs which was scheduled for today at Killarney Stadium.
A total of six matches will be shifted including the Lubombo derby between Illovo Fc and Ubombo Flyers as well as the battle of the NFD rookies Kappa Kappa and Shooting Stars.
