Africa-Press – Eswatini. SEDCO is now accepting applications from MSMEs for the fifth edition of the renowned MTN-SEDCO Cija Ngebhizinisi competition.
The MTN-Small Enterprises Development Company (SEDCO) Cija Ngebhizinisi competition awards MSMEs with E10 000 cash for recapitalising their businesses and free entrepreneurship training. Since its inception in 2018, the MTN-SEDCO Cija Ngebhizinisi competition had awarded E200 000 in prize money and free entrepreneurship training to 80 entrepreneurs from all regions of the country.
SEDCO’s Corporate Communications Officer, Zamantolo Fakudze said this was a two-round competition that would culminate in 20 entrepreneurs winning a five day entrepreneurship focused training administered by SEDCO, and from the 20, five participants would be awarded E10 000 in prize money each. Fakudze added that this competition was open to all emaSwati involved in entrepreneurial activity across all industries.

“This competition had made a strong impact in developing MSMEs over the years, not only through the capital injection, but mainly through the training which provides the entrepreneurial literacy which our country so desperately needs,” said Fakudze. To enter the competition, entrepreneurs need to follow the Cija Ngebhizinisi digital training series which is run through digital platforms, including radio, and SEDCO’s Facebook and Youtube platforms.
The digital training series provides mini-training sessions for entrepreneurs which focus on business development strategies for promoting growth and boosting revenue in small businesses. Fakudze stated that following the training series was very important, because the overall winners of the competition were selected based on proof of practical applications of the business development strategies shared in the digital training sessions.

Printed copies of the same form are available across SEDCO branches. Applications for the competition close on February 28, 2023.
