Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) continued with the National Commissioner’s Cup Games on Wednesday with officers from all regions competing in soccer, netball, and volleyball matches held at Mkhuzweni, Nhlangano, and the Matsapha Police Academy.

The multi-sport fixtures brought together teams from across the country in a coordinated programme aimed at promoting fitness, teamwork, and unity among officers while strengthening overall performance within the service.

Participants showcased determination and skill in competitive matches that attracted strong support, with the games serving as both a wellness initiative and a platform for building camaraderie across regions.

Results from the fixtures reflected the intensity of the competition, with teams demonstrating preparedness and discipline in all sporting codes. At the Matsapha Police Academy, Manzini edged Academy 3–2 in soccer and went on to secure a 3–0 win in volleyball, underlining their strong performance on the day.

In Nhlangano, Shiselweni dominated the soccer fixture with a 6–1 victory over PHQ, while PHQ responded in netball with a convincing 52–28 win. Shiselweni later claimed the volleyball match 3–1, highlighting balanced competition between the sides.

At Mkhuzweni, Hhohho recorded a commanding 61–9 victory over Lubombo in netball and followed up with a 3–1 win in volleyball. Lubombo managed to recover in soccer, defeating Hhohho 3–1.

Senior Deputy National Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Sula Dlamini represented National Commissioner Manoma Vusi Masango during the games, engaging with participants and encouraging continued involvement in sport as part of building a healthy and effective police service.“These games are important in promoting fitness, teamwork, and discipline among officers, while also strengthening unity across all regions. We encourage continued participation as sport plays a key role in improving performance and overall wellbeing within the service,” said Dlamini.

Organisers noted that the games continue to play a vital role in promoting physical fitness and mental resilience among officers, which are essential qualities in policing. The growing participation and enthusiasm observed across venues reflect the positive impact of the initiative in fostering teamwork and strengthening relationships within the service.

The National Commissioner’s Cup Games are expected to continue delivering competitive action while reinforcing the importance of sport in building a disciplined, united, and high-performing workforce.
