Africa-Press – Eswatini. Nkilongo Member of Parliament Petros Sibandze has applauded government for its swift response and decisive intervention in addressing basic community needs following appeals for assistance.
Sibandze made the remarks at Lunkuntu under Nkilongo Inkhundla, where Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla, together with Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, Minister of Education and Training Owen Nxumalo, and other government officials, toured five major community development projects.
The projects, which are nearing completion, include the construction of a primary school, clinic, community hall, shopping complex, and a bridge, with a combined value of E30 million.
“I would like to thank His Majesty’s Government. When His Majesty gave the Nkwe mandate, he called on everyone to embrace the spirit of action. When I approached the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministries of Health, Education, and Commerce, they responded swiftly,” said Sibandze.
He said the new primary school, which is expected to open soon, will spare learners from travelling long distances to access education.
Sibandze also expressed appreciation to the Cabinet ministers present and the Deputy Prime Minister for their continued support.
“They have committed to ensuring that these projects reach completion. I urge residents to also lend a helping hand so that we can protect and sustain these developments,” he said.
The legislator noted that prior to his election as Nkilongo MP, residents had consistently appealed for the provision of basic services. He said it was deeply fulfilling to witness the realisation of those long-standing requests.
According to Sibandze, the community’s primary needs included a local school, a community hall, and a clinic, all of which are now close to completion.
He concluded by thanking residents for their continued support and reaffirmed his gratitude to His Majesty King Mswati III, noting that the Nkwe mandate has empowered public officials to act swiftly and decisively in delivering services to the people.
