Africa-Press – Eswatini. Security forces teams are banned from using government vehicles, while their officials cannot wear uniforms in Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) games.
The security forces teams are Green Mamba, Young Buffaloes and Royal Leopard. The officials are not allowed to wear their working uniforms if they are not on State duty at stadia and failure to comply will cause them to forfeit about 70 per cent of their PLE proceeds. This is as per the PLE Compliance Manual, which was adopted in last week’s ordinary general assembly.
Regard
With regard to the vehicles, the officials must either use those with team branding or those that are not branded at all. This is meant to detach them from the government, as the State does not own a football side. Meanwhile, the compliance manual is a ‘how to’ guide for member clubs to ensure that the nature and extent of the services to be provided to the league by teams are clear and mandatory standards, the contravention of which is an act of misconduct. It is, therefore, binding on all member clubs as well as their officials, directors, full or part time employees, duly authorised representatives, players or any party to whom any obligation has been delegated by a team. Meanwhile, this past weekend our sister publication, the Eswatini News, reported that the forces teams were not allowed to loan out more than five players. They are forced to sell the surplus players.
