Africa-Press – Eswatini. A Grade IV pupil of Bekezela Primary School survived the horrific accident that claimed the life of his uncle last Thursday at Mahangeni near Nsoko.
According to the mother of the 18-year-old pupil, Busisiwe Matsenjwa, her son, Mbongeni Matsenjwa, survived the accident together with her husband and daughter-in-law. The accident involved a Toyota RunX, which crashed into a Scania Truck. Busisiwe said her husband, Thembinkosi Matsenjwa, sustained serious head injuries, as she was told by the hospital staff that he could suffer from memory loss.
She mentioned that her daughter-in-law, Sithula Matsenjwa, also sustained neck and back injuries, as she constantly complained that her left leg was not responsive. “I am still shocked and traumatised about the accident. Mbongeni will recuperate with time, though he has a deep cuts, on the back of his head, foot and forehead. Sithula also sustained serious injuries but she will recover through God’s mercy,” she said. Busisiwe said the victims had left home at Mahangeni to buy car parts, only for the car to be involved in the nasty accident. Sithula, when interviewed from her hospital bed, said she only recalled the sedan she was on board, driving straight into the truck. “I could not remember anything that happened thereafter, as I only woke up in the hospital bed,” she said. Meanwhile, according to an eyewitness, the driver of the vehicle lost control of it after failing to negotiate a corner.
