Africa-Press – Eswatini. Former Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Principal Secretary Phesheya Dube has transitioned to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade as Under Secretary.
Aiming to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations, the Civil Service Commission has announced a series of administrative and technical transfers of senior government officials.
This decision, confirmed by the Commission’s Chairman, Peter Mamba, is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the administrative and technical functions of government, thereby improving public service delivery across various sectors.
The announcement comes as part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure that the right personnel are in place to meet the evolving needs of the public and to facilitate a more responsive government.
The changes, which take effect immediately, involve several key appointments that reflect a strategic realignment of responsibilities among senior officials.
The following movements have been officially confirmed: Gugu Shabangu has been transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture to the Ministry of Home Affairs, where she will serve as Under Secretary, Administration.
Nhlanhla Motsa will now serve as Under Secretary, Administration at the Ministry of Agriculture, moving from his previous position in the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
Cebile Nhlabatsi has transitioned from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Public Service, taking on the role of Under Secretary, Administration.Antony Masilela, previously with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, has been appointed as Under Secretary, Administration at the Ministry of Health.
Richard Phungwayo has moved from the Ministry of Public Service to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, where he will also serve as Under Secretary, Administration.
Mpumie Dlamini has shifted from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, where she will take on the role of Under Secretary, Administration.
Ncamsile Mntshali, moving from the Ministry of Health, will now serve as Under Secretary, Administration at the Ministry of Education and Training.
Constance Vilakati moved from the Ministry of Tourism to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development as Under Secretary, Administration.
Hlobisile Dlamini moved from the Ministry of Housing to the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs as Under Secretary, Administration. Vincent Dlamini moved from the Ministry of Public Works to the Ministry of Agriculture as Under Secretary, Technical.
Chairman Peter Mamba emphasised that these changes are designed to foster a more integrated approach to governance, where cross-sectoral expertise can lead to innovative solutions for public service challenges.He noted that the Civil Service Commission is committed to ensuring that government officials are not only well-positioned but also adequately equipped to respond to the needs of the citizens they serve.
