The gaffer, who has honed his coaching skills in South Africa over the years, joined Inkunzi Emnyama on Wednesday, replacing former Coach Dumsani ‘DU’ Makhanya, who has since been demoted to the assistant coach position. According to a source, the renowned football coach’s comments have led to potential disciplinary action as the PLE considers sanctioning him for violations of his code of conduct.
“Today marked my final day with Denver Sundowns, as I am returning to South Africa. I admit that I made a mistake in assuming that I was joining a professional league, only to discover that it does not cater for professional individuals like myself,” the coach was quoted saying after the game.
The coach’s comments are regarded as unsporting behaviour, which is frowned upon by the 2023/24 MTN Premier League Rules and Regulations. According to a source, the coach will be charged for his statements. The new capital city giants mentor could be charged under Articles 6.53 and 55.3.6.7 of the 2023/24 MTN Premier League Rules and Regulations, if found guilty, the coach may face fines totalling E50 000.
The PLE Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kenneth Makhanya, revealed that coach Dlamini’s utterances, which were published in the media, have been referred to their prosecutor for review and appropriate action. “The league’s administration is taking this matter seriously, as Dlamini’s comments violated the MTN Premier League Rules and Regulations,” he briefly said.
Meanwhile besides Baroka United, Milton has also coached teams such as the defunct Thanda Royal Zulu, Platinum Stars, Free States Stars and Mbombela United, among others. He also had a brief stint in 2021 with Manzini Wanderers, where he assisted in the technical bench. He was also part of Mbabane Highlanders technical team in 1997. He was once in charge of the yellow and white Manzini-based side in 2013.
