Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has bid farewell to the outgoing National Director of World Vision Eswatini, Tinah Mukunda.
The farewell took place on 7 July 2025 at the Private and Cabinet Offices at Hospital Hill, Mbabane. The Prime Minister praised Mukunda’s dedication and notable contributions to the country during her tenure.
“Yesterday, I had the honour of bidding farewell to Ms Tinah Mukunda, who will be leaving Eswatini in August. She has made a remarkable impact during her time leading World Vision Eswatini,” said the Prime Minister.
During their meeting, both parties reflected on the strong and collaborative relationship between the Government of Eswatini and World Vision. The World Vision team expressed gratitude for the government’s continued support—particularly in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project, a joint effort with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy and the Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC).
The team also shared plans to launch a new water project this Thursday at Tfutfukani, Mhlangatane in the Hhohho Region, which will benefit 200 households. This initiative is a collaboration between World Vision and the local community.
The Prime Minister welcomed World Vision’s ambitious goal to reach 329 000 people over the next five years. He also acknowledged their ongoing efforts in child protection, psychosocial support, and tackling violence against children and gender-based violence.
“We reaffirmed Government’s support to World Vision and shared our national commitment to achieving 100% water and electricity coverage by 2030, a target that is already being pursued,” said the Prime Minister.
He further mentioned that the Government had provided input into World Vision’s new strategic plan, which is currently under development.
The Prime Minister concluded by wishing Ms Mukunda well in her future endeavours and said he looked forward to welcoming Mr Amos Zaindi, the incoming National Director of World Vision Eswatini
