Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini has assured that government would deploy all its assets internally as well as regionally to hunt down those who he called terrorists and bring them to book while exposing their enablers.

The premier said government would not hesitate to respond with the necessary force to protect national security as a sovereign state in the face of brutal crimes that were being committed under the pretext of pursuing democracy.

Dlamini said the collective efforts as a nation should be towards nation building in the form of preparing for the upcoming Sibaya National Dialogue, which His Majesty King Mswati III and the government openly committed to having.

This was during a press conference held at Cabinet offices yesterday where the PM addressed the recent attacks on members of the national security by what he termed terrorists.

The premier strongly condemned the senseless killing of State security officers as well as the sporadic arson and terrorist attacks on public and private property, perpetuated by unknown criminals hiding behind veiled motives. Dlamini said the safety of the nation across all four regions was now under threat as “this group of criminals continued to wage a senseless assault on the people.”

“This spate of crime and its effects has now reached a level in which it has, and will, affect the lives of all Emaswati in one way or another. No doubt, this is not through the consent of Emaswati.

It, therefore, begs the question who is it for and what does that person or persons stand to benefit from it,” he said.

He added that it was clear, therefore, that these attacks were not just on government or any individual company but on all Emaswati.

He said those behind these evil acts were terrorists hell-bent on condemning Emaswati to a state of fear and never-ending cycle of poverty. He stated that there could be no justification of such attacks, particularly when there was a clear laid down pathway towards reconciling differences and building a better Eswatini together.

“It is clear to all of us now that the people behind these attacks are not for the betterment of Emaswati or a better Eswatini, but selfishly pushing their terrorist agendas,” he said.

He mentioned that as government they could not sit back and watch these terrorists intimidate the nation.

He assured that government would do everything to protect the lives of its citizens and to restore peace and order in this beautiful Kingdom.

He said these “criminals and their enablers would face the full might of the law.” Dlamini revealed that as government they were already out in full force conducting investigations and gathering the necessary information that would help them decisively deal with the criminals behind these acts.

“Government will not hesitate to respond with the necessary force to protect our national security as a sovereign state in the face of these brutal crimes that are being committed under the pretext of pursuing democracy.

“The government commits to every citizen that it is deploying all its assets internally as well as regionally to hunt down these terrorists and bring them to book, while exposing their enablers,” he assured.
