Africa-Press – Eswatini. With the Mediterranean breeze carrying the spirit of unity and sustainability, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has arrived in Nice, France, to represent His Majesty King Mswati III and the nation at the prestigious 2025 UN Ocean Conference.

The global gathering is being held under the inspiring theme: “Accelerating Action and Mobilising All Actors to Conserve and Sustainably Use the Ocean.”

Eswatini’s participation signals a strong commitment to global cooperation in preserving the world’s oceans, despite the Kingdom being landlocked. The Premier is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the African Oceans Summit, a high-level event championed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. This summit is aimed at amplifying African leadership in blue economy initiatives and unlocking the vast potential of the continent’s maritime spaces.

The conference is a melting pot of international collaboration, and Eswatini’s voice is among those shaping global priorities. A special side event titled “Blue Horizons” will bring together Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). These regions, including Eswatini, share unique challenges and opportunities connected to ocean-related sustainability—whether through trade, environmental protection, or food security.

By standing alongside fellow nations in this forward-looking dialogue, Prime Minister Dlamini continues to position Eswatini as an active participant in global sustainability efforts. His presence highlights the country’s dedication to not only environmental stewardship but also to innovation and partnership in addressing shared global challenges.
