Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has paid a glowing tribute to His Majesty King Mswati III, celebrating the King’s unwavering leadership and vision for Eswatini’s continued development.
Speaking during the grand celebrations at King Sobhuza II Stadium in Nhlangano, the PM reflected on the remarkable journey of progress that Eswatini has experienced since gaining independence – progress he credited largely to the leadership of His Majesty.
“The tremendous progress that the country has made socially, politically and economically since Independence cannot be separated from the achievements of His Majesty since his coronation 39 years ago,” he stated.
Dlamini highlighted the peace and stability that the Kingdom enjoys, acknowledging it as a direct result of His Majesty’s dedication to strengthening both internal unity and international relations. He also lauded Eswatini’s proud preservation of cultural traditions, which have become a cornerstone of the country’s unique identity.
“The Kingdom of Eswatini is slowly but surely becoming the heart of African culture because Eswatini has preserved cultural and traditional practices that have sadly been lost elsewhere,” he remarked.
Dlamini further praised the King’s bold economic transformation agenda, emphasizing that His Majesty’s vision has been captured in the Government’s Programme of Action for 2025–2029. This agenda, he said, focuses on uplifting the well-being of every Liswati and advancing the nation’s prosperity.
In a heartfelt conclusion, Dlamini expressed gratitude to God for His Majesty’s life and reign, offering prayers for the continued protection of the King, the Queen Mother, and the Nation.
The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including former Presidents Jacob Zuma and Joseph Kabila, as well as international diplomats, underscoring the strong friendships Eswatini continues to nurture across the globe.
