Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has called on emaSwati to ensure that tourists visiting the country during the festive season, including Christmas, are warmly welcomed, well cared for, and protected.

The Prime Minister emphasised that tourists play a critical role in promoting Eswatini to the international community through their personal experiences. He noted that positive encounters can encourage more visitors to travel to the Kingdom, contributing to economic growth and strengthening the country’s global image.

“Tourists who have good experiences in Eswatini become ambassadors for our country. They tell others about the beauty of our nation and the warmth of Emaswati. This has a direct impact on our economy,” Dlamini said, adding that the manner in which citizens treat visitors will determine whether tourism continues to thrive.

The Prime Minister made the remarks on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, at the Private and Cabinet Offices in Mbabane while delivering his Christmas message to the nation. He began by expressing gratitude to His Majesty King Mswati III and Her Majesty the Indlovukazi for their wise leadership, guidance, and protection throughout the year. He wished Their Majesties a happy and safe Christmas.

In his message, the Prime Minister quoted from Isaiah 9:6, a well-known biblical passage foretelling the birth of Jesus Christ, highlighting themes of peace, leadership, and hope. He encouraged Emaswati to reflect on the meaning of Christmas and to thank God for the gift of life.

“During this time, our country is usually visited by tourists. On behalf of Government, we welcome them into Eswatini. I also encourage Emaswati to take good care of our visitors,” he said.

Beyond tourism, Prime Minister Dlamini urged the nation to remain vigilant and avoid potential dangers during the festive period. He called on citizens to prioritise safety, including safeguarding homes to prevent housebreaking, and to look out for one another.

He further appealed to Emaswati to continue showing love, unity, and care within communities, describing these values as essential during the festive season. The Prime Minister also thanked the nation for participating in the Incwala ceremony, which commenced over the weekend, and wished Emaswati well as the important cultural event continues.

Dlamini concluded by wishing the nation a peaceful and joyful Christmas, encouraging all citizens to celebrate responsibly while upholding Eswatini’s reputation as a safe, welcoming, and culturally rich destination.
