Africa-Press – Eswatini. Police were deployed on Monday morning after Gege resident invaded the home of King Mswati’s Taiwanese investor Shangnan John Fan who grabbed their land, with an alleged intention to kill him.

John Fan is the Director of Nhlangano FTM, about ten(10) families in this community were affected by the Taiwanese land grabbing.

Police Spokesperson Superintendent Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

The press reported last week that the Taiwanese investor was forcefully removing Swazis from their land, the residents resolved to rise-up.

Speaking to the press earlier, Gogo Mahilda Ndaba said as far as she knew, the land was obtained through concessions made about one hundred (100)years ago, during the reign of King Sobhuza.

“Our fields have been planted with timber trees, and we can no longer plough or graze on them.Even the burying of our loved ones has been banned, we carry their bodies to burry them in other communities who normally assist us”,she said.

Efforts to reach FTM boss Shangnan John Fan for comments proved futile.

Sikhumbuzo Malinga, the Indvuna for Tsambekwako Royal Kraal, said he was aware of the land dispute in the area.
