Africa-Press – Eswatini. Positive stories can help in transforming the economy of the country.

This was said by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini today (April 24, 2024) during a meet and greet he had with staff from Eswatini Positive News (EPN). The EPN team had gone to the Private and Cabinet Offices at Hospital Hill, Mbabane to present on the work done by the online media outlet.

Dlamini said the spread of positive information about the country could help bring in investors who could start businesses in the country. These investors, according to the prime minister, could create many job opportunities for Emaswati.

This stemmed from the fact that there was a businessman from Kuwait who showed interest in buying the green chert mineral from Eswatini. The businessman expressed interest in buying the mineral after reading from this publication that Micheal Lee Enterprises had been blessed by His Majesty King Mswati III to extract the mineral at Malolotja.

The premier said such stories were inspiring and they needed to be shared so that other investors could take advantage of the fact that there were investors who were interested in working with Eswatini, in its quest to develop the lives of its people.

The prime minister also mentioned that the positive news could also be used to change the mindset among Emaswati and adopt one that would help improve the lives of the people of this country. He said the mindset had to be changed by everyone, from the public sector right to the private sector because they all had a role to play in improving the country’s economy.

EPN Director Mbongeni Ndlela shared the publication has managed to attract following even beyond Eswatini borders. He explained that the publication has recorded growth to its followers as a result of the kind of articles that were being published online.

On Monday this week, the premier also spoke about the change of mindset to the nurses when he launched the Nursing Leadership Initiative (NLI). He told the nurses to change the mindset and stop thinking that all nurses had to be hired by Government because the economy of the country was small. He advised that institutions that trained and produced nurses should start doing so with an intention of exporting them.
