Africa-Press – Eswatini. Even if Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini wants to fire or reshuffle Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Savannah Maziya, he has complicated the whole process by failing to control his emotions and as a result, whatever decision he might take now against Savannah will be interpreted or perceived as a personal fight.
Indeed, the information I am receiving from the Palace suggests that, the King is not happy with the manner in which the PM is treating the ICT Minister but Russell must be careful when dealing with Mswati, the King might give you a smile when talking to you and if you don’t know him, you will think or conclude that he is supporting what you are doing.
Indeed, in terms of the Constitution, the Prime Minister is not the appointing authority and in the context of a company, he is the Board Chairman and the Ministers are members of the Governing Board appointed by the Shareholder.
The primary duty of a Board Chairman in terms of corporate governance is to preside over Board meetings, communicate and further abide by Board decisions or resolutions.
A Board Chairman does not have powers to fire a Board member, Russell Dlamini is a also a Minister with a Portfolio just like the other Ministers the difference being that, he is the “Prime Minister” and the word “Prime” means he is slightly superior than the other Ministers by virtue of being the Chairman of Cabinet.
But on Wednesday afternoon, the PM attempted to fire Information Minister Savannah Maziya and clearly, the Prime Minister is intimidated by the intelligence of this woman, Savannah Maziya is so intelligent and globally connected, you cannot take away her intelligence.
Intelligent people live in their own world and you must be a very stupid person to even think once you hate that particular person, he/she will then be reduced to your level of thinking or behavior.
Being a Prime Minister in this country does not mean you are intelligent, you are only privileged to be born from the ruling Dlamini royal family, this should ring in Russell Dlamini’s head.
The Prime Minister has been approaching the King in an attempt to badmouth Savannah, he allegedly told Mswati that Minister Savannah Maziya is a very bad person and she doesn’t have all the global connections she claims to have, a whole Prime Minister intimidated by the intelligence of a woman instead of learning from her.
We are living in a patriarchal society but, we must know that in our country we have very intelligent women, sabotaging them just because they are more intelligent than you as a man, will not make you a better person, a wise person learn from those who are more intelligent.
But the Prime Minister is undermining his own dignity by fighting Savannah Maziya, this Minister has proven to be smart and when opening her month she speaks substance, demonstrating and communicating her great vision for this country.
This country has already implemented some digital projects under Minister Savannah Maziya, she is currently working on the social media monetization project to ensure that, emaSwati get paid for their social media content, Russell Dlamini wants to sabotage all these projects.
But in conclusion, let me warn and remind Russell Dlamini that the King is fast approaching sixty (60) years, his behavior and the way he handles such petty ‘conflicts’ long changed, those who were securing positions “ngekuhlala ngalabanye eNkhosini batofana netinhlanti tishelwe ngemanti very soon”.
As the situation stands, we will not see any meaningful progress in Cabinet in terms of service delivery because the Prime Minister is busy fighting Savannah Maziya instead of developing this country, “pelepele uphetfwe Lindiya, livanga ngisho indengane”.
