Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mlungisi Makhanya,the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO)met Mozambican influential opposition leader David Simango this week.
Simango,a Member of Parliament(MP) and former Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs is the President of the Mozambique Democratic Movement(MDM).
The meeting took place at the MDM’s Head offices in Maputo during the PUDEMO President’s three(3)day working visit to Mozambique.
On Thursday,the PUDEMO President described Mozambique as a very important immediate neighbour and strategic country to Swaziland.
“Whatever instability happens in Swaziland has an immediate bearing on Mozambique thus the importance of regularly briefing major stakeholders in that country.Over and above that,you will remember that Mozambique has a very rich history of struggle,having defeated Portuguese colonialism, survived internal civil war and transcended to a multi-party political dispensation.These are all important lessons that are vital to us as PUDEMO,” said the PUDEMO President.
The PUDEMO President said he was unfortunately not at liberty to divulge other compelling things that necessitated the meeting.
“But we are very much happy about what we managed to achieve here and looking forward to the intensification of the struggle back home”,he said.
