Africa-Press – Eswatini. The president of the Ukrainian federation, Andrii Pavelko, revealed on social media, this Tuesday, that Russia will not be able to dispute the qualification for Euro 2024.
After being prevented by FIFA from qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, following the invasion of Ukraine, now it was UEFA’s turn to punish Russia, being banned from accessing the qualification for the European Championship scheduled for 2024, in Germany, reports Jornal Abola.
“The Russians have nothing to prepare for. As demanded by us, Russia will not be present in the draw for qualifying for the next European Championship on October 9 in Frankfurt. At least until 2024 they will not participate in competitions international”, said the leader.
It should be noted that apart from the Russian team, no club from that country can participate in international competitions.
Despite the announcement made public on social media by Andrii Pavelko, there has still not been an official pronouncement by UEFA or the Federation of the nation that was prevented from playing in the competitions.
