Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini’s vibrant music scene is poised for a spectacular showcase as local star Mkhuleko Mangwe, known with his stage name Sancheziey prepares to take the stage at the inaugural Ubuhle Be Africa Pan-African Festival.
This festival will be set against the stunning backdrop of the historic Kwakhangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal, this festival will run from July 25 to 27, 2025, celebrating African culture, creativity, and unity with a diverse lineup of artists from across the continent.
For Sancheziey, this performance represents a significant milestone in his career, especially following a period of relative quiet since the breakout success of his hit song “Siyabonga Salukazana.”Reflecting on his journey, he candidly shared feelings of being overlooked, noting that the absence of participation in major local events had weighed heavily on him. “It definitely hurt my feelings,” he admitted, “so when such an event comes through, it’s a different story.”
The excitement is palpable for Sancheziey as he gears up for this unprecedented opportunity. “I’m very happy, and I see it as an on-ground learning experience since I’ll be sharing the stage with internationally celebrated artists. This gives me a reason to believe that God’s plan and His timing are always perfect. I feel blessed, honestly,” he expressed.
Beyond personal ambition, Sancheziey views his performance as a representation of his fellow emaSwati. “I am going there for emaSwati; every bit of what I will do on and off stage will reflect emaSwati and, more especially, the Salukazana family,” he stated, underscoring his commitment to his roots.
The Ubuhle Be Africa Festival is not just a platform for performance; it’s a golden opportunity for Sancheziey to enhance his brand and expand his reach. He believes that participating in international shows will play a crucial role in his growth as an artist. “Such international shows will sharpen my stage presence and elevate my brand. They’ll definitely increase my circle of network, especially with the unique sound I’m bringing. I’m sure it adds an Eswatini touch to the world,” he explained.
Moreover, he recognizes the potential for these international gigs to elevate his musical profile, ultimately leading to greater recognition back home. “More than anything else, international gigs boost musical profiles, which can trigger local event organizers to consider me for big events like the Standard Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival,” he noted.
As the festival approaches, anticipation builds not only for Sancheziey’s performance but for the celebration of African culture and the unity it represents. With his heart set on making a mark, Sancheziey is ready to shine on the international stage, bringing the spirit of Eswatini to the world!
