Africa-Press – Eswatini. Small Enterprises Development Company (SEDCO) has partnered with the Inhlanyelo Fund to strengthen financial management among small businesses in the country.
The two institutions recently joined hands in a training exercise held at the Mgungundlovu Chiefdom in Ndzingeni, where 100 entrepreneurs, selected as beneficiaries of the Inhlanyelo Fund, received capacity building support.
The training focused primarily on bookkeeping, a critical skill that helps business owners keep accurate records, track income and expenses, and build accountability. By equipping entrepreneurs with this knowledge, SEDCO and Inhlanyelo Fund aim to ensure that funding recipients are not only able to access capital but are also empowered to manage it wisely.
SEDCO emphasised that the initiative forms part of its broader mission to promote sustainable entrepreneurship in Eswatini. Providing financial support is one step, but ensuring that small businesses can manage their resources effectively is what drives long term growth.
The Inhlanyelo Fund has been instrumental in supporting grassroots entrepreneurs across Eswatini, particularly those operating in rural areas who often face challenges in accessing conventional financing. By working with SEDCO, the Fund ensures that its beneficiaries are not only financially included but also equipped with the right skills to run resilient businesses.”
Initiatives such as this play a crucial role in stimulating local economies and reducing unemployment. When small businesses are strengthened through both capital and training, they are better positioned to expand, create jobs, and contribute to community development.
The collaboration highlights the importance of combining financial support with knowledge transfer, laying a foundation for the participating enterprises to grow into stable and successful ventures.
