Africa-Press – Eswatini. Out of contract Mbabane Highlanders gangling forward Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa has engraved his name in the history books of Eswatini football.

Following the recently ended Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup, ‘Sikhali’ has overtaken celebrated former Sihlangu captain Mxolisi ‘Stopper’ Mtsetfwa to become the second most capped national team player while his three goals in the tournament levelled Felix Badenhorst’s 15 goals in the squad’s all-time top goal scorers. ‘Sikhali’ who scored 42 MTN Premier League goals in the past two seasons, now has 55 caps under his belt and is expected to add his 56th on Sunday when Sihlangu play host to Botswana at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

Goal-Scorer

Also, the game-a-goal striker is on the brink of history as he will become Sihlangu’s all-time leading top goal-scorer if he locates the back of the net against the Zebras.

Tony Tsabedze of Mbabane Swallows remains Sihlangu’s most capped player with 71 appearances, while ‘Stopper’ who enjoyed an illustrious career with Manzini Wanderers and Royal Leopard is the third most capped with 52.

Swallows’ winger Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko and Leopard’s centre-back Machawe ‘Mshanga’ Dlamini complete the top five of the most capped stars with 48 and 44 appearances respectively.

With ‘Sikhali’ level with Felix, retired stars Mfanzile ‘Fash’ Dlamini and Siza ‘King Pele’ Dlamini are with a farfetched nine goals in joint third while Tony has eight goals with the national team.

Currently active Sandile ‘Saviola’ Gamedze and Fanelo ‘Order’ Mamba, both from Young Buffaloes, have a chance to catch up with six and five goals under their belts.
