SNAT CONFIRMS SALARY REVIEW PAYOUTS FOR OCTOBER

Africa-Press – Eswatini. President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT), Mbongwa Dlamini, has reassured civil servants that the long-awaited salary review will soon be a reality.

Dlamini explained that while deliberations on the salary review report are still underway, important timelines remain intact. “We are yet to deliberate the salary review report. It is worth mentioning that as the report stands now, corrections and comments cannot be included for now. That can be done through the appeal exercise after implementation,” he said.

He revealed that government and unions had initially agreed to conclude implementation of the report by September 30, 2025. However, the official release of the report only took place on September 29, slightly affecting the initial deadline.

Despite this, Dlamini emphasized that civil servants can look forward to the scheduled payout date. “The 21 October 2025, which is the payout date, still stands,” he affirmed.

To ensure smooth progress, fresh negotiations are set to resume on Wednesday and run until October 2, 2025. “Our anticipation is that when the October salary run starts, the negotiations will have long been concluded. We promised that the negotiations between Public Sector Unions will be in the best interest of civil servants,” Dlamini assured.

This development is a positive milestone for the civil service community, as the long-anticipated salary adjustments move closer to reality, strengthening the commitment of both government and unions to the welfare of workers.
