Africa-Press – Eswatini. Honourable Manzi Zwane, the vibrant Nhlambeni Member of Parliament(MP)questioned Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg if the R2.4billion security budget won’t pay the mercenaries who were allegedly killing civilians.
Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, the pro-democracy MP wondered why the contracted security officials were treated as if they were better than State security officers.
“As an MP representing the people of Nhlambeni,I would like to know if this money is budgeted for security forces,how much would be paid to the security intelligence?”,said the Nhlambeni MP.
King Mswati contracted mercenaries to work with his security officers in shooting and kill human rights defenders.
Lawyer Thulani Maseko was assassinated in his home on the 21st January 2023, international human rights organization are demanding a transparent investigation into Maseko’s death.
