Africa-Press – Eswatini. The stage is magnificently set, the lights are ready, and all roads lead to Royal Villas this evening as the country’s finest storytellers gather for the much-anticipated National Media Awards.

Tonight marks a historic and celebratory moment for journalism in Eswatini, as media practitioners from print, broadcast, and digital platforms are recognised for their dedication to informing, educating, and inspiring the nation. The awards promise glamour, pride, and emotional victories as excellence takes centre stage in a profession that shapes public discourse and national consciousness.

The awards, hosted under the stewardship of the Eswatini National Association of Journalists (ESNAJ) in partnership with the Eswatini Editors Forum and implemented by the Marketing Advertising & Research Council (MARC), symbolise a renewed commitment to ethical, professional, and impactful journalism. This inaugural relaunch has already ignited excitement across newsrooms, with journalists eagerly awaiting the announcement of winners in highly competitive categories.

From Journalist of the Year and Story of the Year to Photographer of the Year and Emerging Reporter of the Year, the awards celebrate courage, creativity, accuracy, and consistency. With over 100 entries received, the judging process has been rigorous, reflecting the growing depth and quality of journalism in the Kingdom.

Adding to the excitement, the awards will be broadcast live on Eswatini TV, allowing viewers across the country and beyond to witness this proud moment for the media industry in real time.

Crucially, the success of the National Media Awards has been made possible through the generous support of sponsors who believe in the power of credible and professional journalism. These include the European Union, MTN Eswatini, Eswatini Mobile, Ubombo Sugar Limited, Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation, Nedbank, Swaziland Building Society, Eswatini Beverages, Lidwala Insurance, SwaziMed, Eswatini Revenue Service, the British High Commission, PSPF, Instacash, ESERA, REDI, and others.
