Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Mamba clan monarch, King Maloyi III has urged his people to choose the word of God. Delivering his speech on Sunday at a church service at the Mamba Royal Kraal in Ngudzeni, the king said this was a wonderful day which belonged to God.
“You will remember that in history during the reign of King Somhlolo, he pleaded with Emaswati to choose scripture (umculu). I also reiterate today and say choose God and get life,” King Maloyi III said.
The king’s Indvuna Mthala Matsebula said King Maloyi III’s speech was of significance because it was the first time he spoke on this day.
Matsebula also said every year, people gather at the Ngudzeni Royal Kraal for the purpose of praying to God.
This, he said, was usually done twice a year, marking the beginning and the end of the royalty household’s year.
King Maloyi III, who was blessed by His Majesty King Mswati III in 2022, went on to say Sunday was a day to praise God and declared the start of the event to be held every year.
The king said there needed to be a further gathering between pastors and Christians to plan on how to make the event an annual one.
King Maloyi III reflected on scripture in the Book of Luke whereby Jesus Christ was teaching his disciples about prayer, he talked about the daily bread.
“This bread is the word of God, which we ought to partake in everyday because a person cannot live by bread alone but with all the words that come from God. Therefore, praising God should not end here but take it back home,” he said.
