Africa-Press – Eswatini. Scores of mourners who identify with the Mbabane Swallows brand have displayed that they are indeed a united family through thick and thin as they cascaded the Mater Dolorosa Church to pour their hearts out on the demise of the team’s former management committee (MC) chairman Bandla Ndzinisa, who has passed on
This happened during a well-attended memorial service held at the Roman Catholic Church yesterday.
During the service, former charismatic Motshane Member of Parliament Robert Magongo, who was at his usual jocular self, spoke on behalf of Mbabane Swallows.
Magongo narrated how they were close with happenings at Mbabane Swallows with the late Ndzinisa, up to the extent that any of them would be in trouble during the Mbabane derby week when they dared spoke to any Mbabane Highlanders official or player.
This would lead to trouble within the Birds camp.
“There were three camps that would discuss Swallows issues from the beginning of the week until game day. We would argue and blame each other in our conversations but we would always shake each other’s hands after we have won the game.
“The following week, the same pattern would follow again,” said Magongo.
He said one camp was based at Msunduza, another at Swallows corner, while the other was somewhere in one of the affluent suburbs.
“May I remind everybody that I am an avid Swallows person, people rather quit the club than trying to evict me,” he said humorously.
Ndzinisa was expected to be laid to rest this morning at Mkhulamini, Manzini after a night vigil held yesterday.
Meanwhile, straight from the funeral the Swallows faithfuls are expected to rally behind the Caleb Ngwenya-led men as they will play against Moneni Pirates at Mavuso Sports Centre tomorrow.
