Africa-Press – Eswatini. Muzi Mmema, the Deputy Secretary General of the newly formed Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF)was on Tuesday evening abducted allegedly by State agents.
A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Phindile Vilakati,the police Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Nonhlanhla Mmema,a sister to the political activist confirmed the abduction, she said the kidnappers were driving a Ford Ranger.
“The kidnappers visited our home and asked my brother to give them a cup of water so that they could drink. They then grabbed him and disappeared,” said political activist Muzi Mmema’s sister.
Eswatini is in the midst of a political crisis, political activists and human rights defenders are being persecuted by the State.
Dozens have been killed by Mswati’s police and soldiers since the political unrest started in June 2021.
