Africa-Press – Eswatini. Highlanders Director Ally Kgomongwe has made changes in the team structures ahead of their highly anticipated participation in the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup.

The changes include the elevation of team Manager Clement Dlamini to the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position to join the likes of Melusi Dlamini, Celucolo ‘Dino’ Dlamini and Thulani Khumalo in the list of CEOs for the capital city giants.

The announcements were made during the team’s thanksgiving party held at CODEC in Ezulwini on Saturday.

The team has further moved the longest serving National Supporters Committee Chairman Kenneth Dlamini to the coordinator position in the new look Management committee. Other notable faces include former Kit Manager Makhosonkhe Gama, who has since bounced back as assistant to Manager Simiso ‘Space’ Jele.

Kgomongwe encouraged the team supporters to prepare themselves for their continental adventure. “We will not disappoint you and we are ready put the team on the map. Let us meet at the stadium since there are no longer COVID -19 restrictions and let us prepare ourselves for Africa.

We are meeting all CAF requirements and I would like to thank the Management Committee and the marshals for their efforts in running the team last season,” he said. The ‘Black Bull’ secured a second place finish in the recently ended season to seal a spot in the continent’s second premier club competition ahead of their bitter-sworn rivals Mbabane Swallows.

Highlanders will represent the country in the interclub competition together with champions Royal Leopard, who will be competing in the prestigious CAF Champions League. The Tshwane-based businessman further disbanded the National Supporters Committee (NSC) and replaced it with an interim committee.

The committee will be led by former vice chairman Mfanzile Dlamini following the elevation of Kenneth to the MC. Nhlangano-based supporter Sizolwethu Mlipha is the new vice chairman whilst popular fan Sizwe ‘Mpapane’ Ndlovu has been handed the secretary position.

Kgomongwe further assured supporters that they would soon elect the new supporters committee and also embark on outreach programmes within the four regions to revive supporters branches.

“You will all be given an opportunity to vote for the new supporters structures. We want all supporters to register within their respective branches and we will soon announce a date for the mass meeting where you will elect the permanent supporters structure,” he said.
