Tinkhundla Minister Defends Prime Minister in Parliament

By Zweli Martin Dlamini

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Nkwene Member of Parliament(MP) Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development proved to be more intelligent than Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini in that, he was able to analyse the political climate and asked the PM to withdraw the health crisis report on Thursday.

It should be noted that, Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini is a former police officer and, in terms of corporate governance experience, the Prime Minister, a former Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA), is more experienced than the Tinkhundla Administration.

But equally so, the Tinkhundla Minister is more experienced than the Prime Minister as Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini qualifies to be elected the Speaker in the House of Assembly, having been elected an an MP of Nkwene for two(2) terms.

Based on his experience as an MP, the Tinkhundla Minister was able to analyze the political climate on Thursday inside the House of Assembly and, after realizing that, the Prime Minister has lost temper, he advised that the PM must withdraw the health crisis report so that, it could be debated and discussed by Cabinet before being tabled in the House of Assembly.

In fact, the Tinkhundla Minister, as a seasoned MP and now a Minister, was trying to protect his boss-the Prime Minister but, it transpired that, the Legislator from Nkwene was conducting what is known as “kucatseka luhlanya”.

Well, “kucatseka luhlanya” is a Siswati saying meaning, you are trying to solve a situation that is unsolvable, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has a questionable character, he perceives himself as the most intelligent person only to realize later that, he is actually messing-up.

But on Thursday, a Minister who is a former police officer proved to be more intelligent than him, Tinkhundla Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini demonstrated that, he “cares for his boss and was willing to protect him from embarrassment”.

But alas, “kucatseka luhlanya” is always a challenge and we applaud the Tinkhundla Admistration and Development Minister for trying.

A whole Prime Minister telling MPs that, “nginenkhani mine nitangibona-ke namuhla”.

Parliament is a highly regarded House, the Executive accounts to the Legislative Arm of Government and this means, Prime Minister is accountable to Parliament.
