Africa-Press – Eswatini. CORRECTIONAL males team have endured a tough start in the 2022 Zone VI Club championships currently taking place in Lusaka, Zambia.

The green and white ensemble suffered a 2-3 loss at the hands of Zambian side Nkwazi volleyball team yesterday afternoon.

The Themba Sifundza-led side lost the first set 19-25 and won the second set by 25-14.

The home side regained the advantage in the set where they emerged victorious by 20-25.

The reigning VA Cup champions forced their way back into the match as they won the fourth set by 25-22.

The hosts came back recharged in the last set as they walked away with the match by15-13 to end the contest 2-3 in favour of the Zambians.

Sifundza fielded his strong lineup which comprised Sabelo ‘Liverpool’ Nxumalo, Nduku Masangane , Bongumusa Mlipha, Fortune Neves in the group opener.

The coach attributed the defeat to a lapse in concentration.

“We played well but lost concentration during the course of the match but I am happy with the performance of my team but mother luck was not on our side . We will try and work hard in our next match,” he said. The green and white ensemble has been drawn in group A alongside Support United and Green Eagles in Group A.

Meanwhile, the Ladies team was due to take on Prison Leopard last night.
